Honeymoon fun times

So our honeymoon was fun. We decided on Seattle several reasons. For one, neither of us had been there before. Two, we had decided that the west coast is much cooler place to be than the deep south. And last but not least, there were rumors of good vegan food in Seattle. Well, all of the rumors are true, let me tell you right now. It's so damn easy to be a vegan in Seattle, the tofu pups nearly fly into your mouth as you walk down the street. If you happen to remember our past vacations, then you probably know that food is usually at the center of everything we do. This vacation is certainly no exception. Now, on with the honeymoon.

I won't dwell on the plane trip anymore than I already did leading up to it. Let's just say that I made it though alive. Yes, the fraidy cat silly ass made it to and from Seattle alive.
Our first night there, we headed out to a veg chinese restaurtant called Bamboo Garden.

The place smelled like cat piss, but I must say that we had the YUMMIEST dish ever there! Almond fried "chicken". It rocked my socks. It looks pretty weird, but really. How can you possibly go wrong with fried stuff in a thick gravy?? How??

.....and all done.

We did more than eat, though. Like walking. We walked around a whole lot. Gotta work off the fried food, after all. Our hotel was in the center of town, so we were able to walk to the water, to the marketplace, and pretty much anywhere else we wanted.

We went into a chocolate shop, and I asked if they had any dairy free chocolates. That's when she brought us to this display case:

Uh, yeah. That'll do nicely. Thank you, Seattle.

We went on a tour of a music museum called Experience Music Project. It was actually pretty cool. I got a good talking to for trying to take a picture of one of the displays, so no good pictures there. I did sneak a couple into the jam room, though. Ken and I banged on some drums and made lots of noise.

Later, we went on a search for the vegan pizza joint we had heard so much about. Pizza Pi. You should have seen how damn excited we were, it was pretty sad. Two grown adults all shivering in anticipation over some food. We ordered a small pizza, a calzone, and an order of breadsticks. Yeah, it's a lot. But we had to! How often does one come in contact with an entirely vegan pizza place!? Well, the food ended up being okay. Just okay. The service was lukewarm, the ambiance was non existent, but we were still happy to give our money to a vegan business. We just left talking about how we would improve it if the place were ours. Eh well. Here's a picture of the pizza anyway:

The next day, we decided to drive to Canada for lunch. It's only two hours away, and we really didn't have anything more important to do, so why not? There was no problem, except that we didn't have passports or birth certificates with us. Silly americans. After the border patrol guy was a nice big smart ass to us about it, he decided to let us in anyway. Now the world can feel safe!
Wwe ate lunch in the chinatown section of Vancouver, at a place called Buddhist vegetarian. It was pretty good.

The restaurant had pretty high standards for the employee's cleanliness, too. This sign was in the bathroom:

......and this wonderful photographic journey will have to continue tomorrow. I'm sorry about the huge photographs. Unless a darkroom enlarger is involved, I have no idea how to properly size a picture.
